The Ann Davis Transistion Society Is a wonderfull organization that has been around for a long time. Most people I’ve talked to Think it’s only for women but their are programs there for men too.  Check Them Out Please !

The Ann Davis Transition Society councelling services assists over 1000 people a year, 500 of whom are children.

Provides shelter and support for abused women and their children.

Services include:

Women’s therapy

Family and couple therapy

Advocay (MCFD, disability, Family Court issues)

Men’s counselling and men’s support Group

Emergency adult sexual assault support (after hours the transistion house can be called)

Walk-in Counselling, no appointment necessaruy, Tuesdays 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Youth Mentor/Adolescents’ Counselling

Caught in the Middle – for parents and their children experiencing separation or divorce

Children Who Witness Abuse individual and group conselling

Play and art therapy for children and children’s groups on a variety of topics

Mediation:parent-child; families; couples

Supervised Access visits

Drop-in support and resources on relationships, adult or youth, intimate, shcool or family

Groups for women:

Sening Red (anger)
Pattern Changing
Assertiveness
Codependency

Ann Davis Transition Society partners in the building of healthy relationships, couples’ communitcations group, and Bridging the gap, pre-employment for women.

NOTE:

Many of the programs receive no government funding so they rely on donations and various forms of fundraising: Sometimes a small fee is requested.

If you’d like to slupport the Society’s work through volunteering, their needs include:

office help, writing our newsletter, yard work and fundraising.

Please note that counselling is not done by volunteers at Ann Davis.
