Kyeta Place

Residential Rehabilitation

“At First Avenue – Kyeta Place located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, we provide a psychosocial rehabilitation-focused program in a residential apartment setting, for adults who have a mental illness and a goal of independent living.

Residents are assisted in forming and implementing their own rehabilitation plans that target the critical skills necessary to meet their holistic needs and to learn to live independently or semi-independently within the community.

Individuals are supported toward meeting their goals through structured group teaching sessions and individual follow-up by staff.

Independent Living Skills mentored at First Avenue – Kyeta Place include:

Personal care, medication management, and maintaining physical health, including visits to the doctor
Cleaning the apartment, doing the laundry, shopping for groceries and preparing nutritious meals
Budgeting, banking, making and keeping appointments
Learning how to communicate in person and on the telephone, assertiveness training and conflict resolution

Potential residents are 19 years or older and are recommended by the Chilliwack Mental Health Centre. Individuals must be relatively stable with their mental illness and able to control their behaviour. Residents are people who have lived in a supported setting or on their own and are committed to their goal of independent or semi-independent living.” ( info taken direct from their website – For more information go here at:Communitas Supportive Care Society-Kyeta Place
